There aren't a lot of things that you expect to get free in life, and when you do have that rare opportunity, you don't expect to get something extremely valuable. Unlimited disk space? Unlimited bandwidth? Unlimited whatever I want?
I didn't have a lot of options when I was looking for a place to host my site. I had some specific needs:
It had to be free. There should be no popups or banners. It should have a server side scripting language available. I should be able to access my files through FTP.
The latter two needs weren't so hard to come by, but throw in the first two, and things get a little more complicated. There are a few hosts out there that give you free space with no ads, but you have to do everything through a web interface, and there's no ability to make your sites complex with server side scripting. Essentially, AmbitiousLemon is the most unique consumer web host available in the world.
This is all too good to be true, you may be thinking. There must be problems with support, uptime, speed, or something. Nope, none at all. Support is better than anything I've ever experienced. When AmbitiousLemon was last upgraded about a year ago, I was given multiple options on how I wanted my site to be transfered to the new system. How many web hosts give you options about anything? Couple that with the fact that if you send an e-mail, you'll get a great explanation trying to help you sort out your problem, and I think it becomes clear that support goes far beyond expectations. As for uptime: AmbitiousLemon rarely goes down, and when it does, it's usually back up within a few hours. And speed: blazing. Browse different members' sites and you'll see what I mean.
So why do they provide all of this for free? I have no idea. I know this, though: the feeling of community that builds around something that is provided for free is far superior to when you involve money in it. When people start donating because they want to, you really know that someone respects what you're doing and wants you to continue. I know that the feeling I get when a broke college student sends me an e-mail to say thanks means so much more than a fist full of cash. I can only hope that the people who are currently part of the AmbitiousLemon community and those who will join in the future are as appreciative as I of the unbelievable service offered by such wonderful people. Thanks guys!

Ambitious Lemon Hosting, simply put, is... INCREDIBLE. Not only is their service fast, and extremely reliable, but they also generously contribute most of their resources to the Macintosh community. Their efforts make it possible for a lot of Macintosh content to get out into the public, that otherwise would probably never make it. With their vast amounts of bandwidth and storage space, they are the perfect hosts for anyone that has goodies to offer to the Mac world.
As a Macintosh artist, this service has enabled me to spread my offerings, receive response, and improve my life. I have made many friends, and found various ways to use my talents to enrich our unique community. I couldn't imagine going back to the cold-expensive pc world, where you aren't worth anymore than the money you make.
